He seems to get it.

QuoteWere you later friends with Marco Simoncelli?

We were teammates for three years and were then still good buddies. He was often with me and we went jogging together. It was very sad for me when he was killed. He was one who could have followed in the footsteps of Valentino, especially in terms of public relations. To inspire many people to come into this sport, you simply need types like Rossi and Simoncelli.

Which, IMO, is the reason the Lorenzos, Pedrosas, and Marquezs are not the answer to Carmelo's problem

No modification goes unpunished. Memento mori.  Good people drink good beer.  Things happen pretty fast at high speeds.

It's all up to your will level, your thrill level and your skill level.  Everything else is just fluff.

The jury might still be out on Marquez.

It might still be out, but it's close to a verdict. The Spaniards are batshit fast, but they have no sense of what most fans want to see. Lorenzo tried to mimic Rossi and found that he was tagged as a copycat. Now he set that shit aside and simply goes fast. The turd has never had a personality. Marquez looks to be more approachable than both, but never to the level of that is desperately needed right now in GP.

Best part of that article:

You're right ducpainter, he gets it.  [laugh]
