Did they bill you for valve cover gaskets on your last service?

Yup...one of the first things I checked on the bill after I recovered from the shock of the 11.5 hr labor charge...

Removed the radiator protector and degrunged the radiator on the SF this morning...the grunge was definitely oil & dirt and not coolant, so no radiator leak.  It appears as though the cam cover may be leaking at the corner where the bottom of the belt cover meets the engine...almost looks as if the leak may be from the bottom side of the belt cover, but that definitely shouldn't be, so it's probably migrating from the valve cover.  Or maybe it's just a leftover mess from my last service...

It's the new open-bath belt system they've been experimenting with.   :D
And the sugar fountain fairy swore so hard when she came to super-size that stale hope soybean; liiiike a homeless German woman. Who is this super-sizing spirit-crushing femme? And tell her I'll break a tree root up in her shrimp.

Being faster than you thought possible…it feels good. No, screw thatâ€"it feels like shotgunning a gallon of adrenaline and chasing it with an all-night orgy aboard a burning Viking boat.

Good thing it's not coolant.  Apart from that my lips are sealed.   ;D

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!   Did everyone make it?  Last night was the most low key New Years celebration around our house in history.  I guess the big party for the Mayan end of the world was enough.   [laugh]

Happy new year guys.  My night was incredibly uneventful, mostly due to having the flu.  I was awake to see midnight roll around, but wasn't venturing all that far from the sofa in front of the fireplace...

Happy new year to you all! I slept 1st 18 hours of the year with my cold.  Hope it's a good sign that I will get to sleep alot on 2013, not the cold part.

Took the SF to SSD to have the Marchesinis mounted up...bike feels more nimble and seems to accelerate/brake a bit better... [evil]  What's really amazing to me though, is how much lighter they make the bike look... [thumbsup]

We all know looks are at least 90%.    [laugh]

Seriously nice looking set up!

Went down to SS today and ordered a cam belt adjustment tool.  Not bad.  Then bought an O ring seal for the fuel pump to install on the new gas tank when it comes in. I like the preventative maintenance idea thing. New rubber seal around a fuel pump that sits right above a hot vertical cylinder and exhaust sounds good to me.  $75.00 for a simple O ring seal does not!  Bought it anyway just cause. Damn seal costs more than the special tool. There's something just not right about that.  Makes me start rethinking the Ducati thing again. Seal costs the same as one cam belt. I guess they are both critical parts. I don't mind the belt cost that much but a seal? Dang!
