Mercedes, Honda and Hyundai built here in Alabama, all shut down their lines so their workers can watch the game.  [clap]

#136
Roll Tide  [clap] That makes 7 in a row for the SEC. 3 of the last 4 for Alabama. Also the first team to ever win back to back BCS Championships.

Got to hand it to Nick Saban.  Guy is a dick IMO but man does he know how to win. That ND team could do nothing.  All I could think of was the what if's but I'm not going to go down that road.

I know that there are a bunch of Buckeye haters on here (probably more now due to my comments) but I have a question for all the Non-SEC/Bama fans on here.  Are Urban and the Buckeyes the only hope for the rest of the country to knock of the SEC/Bama?  Seems like teams keep trying (yes I know OSU is 2 of the 7 straight teams to fall to the SEC) and failing pretty hard.  Urban is building an SEC caliber team in Columbus and I just don't see any other coaches out there who know how to beat SEC teams and have the players to do so.

There are other hopes. I think Oregon has the best chance right now. They would have played far better than ND IMO. A sleeper is (don't laugh) Washington. Washington is an extremely young team...they could be very, very good in 2-3 years. USC should always have a chance, except for their douche coach.

I don't think the Buckeyes have any better chance than the other major schools. They are among the hopes though.

USC went from ranked #1 to 7-6 I don't see them competing under Lane Kiffin.

To me Oregon is a challenger but I haven't seen them beat a really good team (with a good defense) that has time to prepare for them.  Auburn, Ohio State, LSU, and even Boise beat their better teams.  I think Bama would have rolled them this year and the KSU team they beat had a really good QB but not a good/great defense.

The main reason I say the Buckeyes have the best chance is that Urban knows how to beat SEC teams. Chip Kelly hasn't proven that yet.  I think ND can compete again, give Kelly some time to recruit his guys and we'll see what happens. No way Washington competes for it anytime soon but they are an up and coming team.

Really dude? I know you guys in the Big 10 are a bit dillusional, but damn. The only teams that can even come close to Bama are all in the SEC. The only hope now would be to pray for a bad recruiting class so that another SEC team wins it (hopefully not the Gaytors).

His question was which non-SEC team can knock them off though.

The Big 10 sucks in general. OSU probably has the best shot out of them though due to their coach.

I agree on USC...hence the db coach comment. They're USC though...they should always be a contender. It has to be one of the easiest places to recruit players...tradition, weather, education, girls, etc. Nevermind some of the best HS players in the country are in their backyard. That said, I hate USC!  [laugh]

Any team that beats 'Bama is going to have to have a stellar defense, because 'Bama has one. That's the problem. Great offenses aren't that hard to build...great defenses are difficult to build for whatever reason, especially in college.

Triple you are absolutely right about USC but Kiffin needs to go.  I know their recruting class this year is pretty good. And right now Urban is trying to build that SEC type defense at OSU in recruiting.  I think it can be done.

Carlos outside of the SEC Urban is the only multi National Championship winning coach so I like the Buckeyes chances of at least winning one sometime in the next few years.  I never once said the Big Ten is good but the SEC after Bama, GA, and A&M was not exactly ganbusters this year.  All I'm saying is that I think the Buckeyes, Oregon, ND (maybe) and yeah probably USC are the only teams out there the can come close to the top SEC schools.

As of right now the SEC is the only conference to get blanked in a National Championship game  ;D

We'll see how it plays out the next few years.

If anyone can do it, it will be Urban because as you know that's where he came from and that's why in his first year he crushed in the Big 10 ( [roll]). He knows how to coach in the SEC style of the game. Oregon will first have to get there for a chance, but an offensive line like Alabama has would wear their defense down before halftime. Basketball on grass will never win against the SEC.

The SEC should have its own division. In the realm of reality, OSU would be killed by the top 6 teams in the SEC
