Hi everyone. As you may or may not know I am the one looking after Robs precious ;D.

I am due to rego it in August this year and have to go through the blue slip crap and was wondering is there any quick fixes to quiet the Termi's to get it passed??  [thumbsup]

I have heard of the old steel wool?? Does it work?  The bike will be trailered to the shop so it will only be started up for a sec.

Any help would be much appreciated  :)

Oh and hey Rob, I painted it yellow  :P [cheeky]

WHAT, Precious is new Yellow!

As far as I know you won't to worry about noise for a blue slip, it is pretty much the same check as a pink slip (RWC)
I don't think they do any db noise checks and st s gentle 4,000rpm it wouldn't really be that noisy.

ducatiz

google "db killers"

they are popular in Europe.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

Thanks Mat, but I'm still concerned as I have to take it to the only car mechanic in the area that does blue slips and he is very strict :-\ just trying to cover my ass before the time comes. The bike shop down here doesn't do them  ??? [thumbsdown]

Two Dogs has tried (steel wool) I believe with spectacular results,

I'll leave it to him to explain the finer points of (steel wool) installation

The Don

Find a seller of staintune pipes, you can get Db killer through them. I got mine through MCA Liverpool

why do you have to go to that car mechanic??

go elsewhere , it will pass easy
i dont care if you have been a mechanic for 10 years doing something for a long time does not make you good at it, take my gf for an example shes been walking for 28 years and still manages to fall over all the time.

Making it quieter?  I don't understand this.

Quieter?
You did say quieter?

LOL

Again though, as far as I know the blue slip is the same inspection as a pink slip and they don't do db sound tests.

Yup,

They don't even run the bike, and if they do just tell them that's how it came with Gen-u-ine Ducati pipes  ;)

It really is a check to make sure that the engine and frame numbers are correct.

This won't hurt much.... Trust me......
