Hello,

I have a 2010 696 and just bought the Ducati Touring Seat for it.  It doesn't fit well at all and is almost impossible to get the seat latch to catch.  I tried to adjust the release mechanism to no avail.  The seat won't lay down like the stock one did.  The seat pans look identical so not sure what is happening.  It seems the seat is binding somewhere but I can't tell where.  I am able to get the seat mechanism to engage but only after putting excess pressure on the seat.  After that the key doesn't release the seat without some serious coaxing.

Anyone have this issue and, if so, how did you rectify it?

Thank You

Welcome.

Your question is probably best suited for the Accessories & Mods section. Here (the welcomes) doesn't get nearly as much traffic as other sections of the site like Accessories & Mods.

I wish I could help more, but my monster is now 2 frame revisions detached from yours - so I'm not familiar with the details of your seat set.
-Throttle's on the right, so are the brakes.  Good luck.

I had the same issue. I left it on the bike (removing it and putting back once in awhile) and it improved with time. After a few months on the bike it got to be just as easy to put on and remove as the stock seat.

Don't try to unlatch it by forcing the key. press down on the seat a bit then turn the key

but yes, as you press it closed, over time it will get easier.
