<raises hand> I did  ;D

No ticket.  Pulled over for tinted windows (came on the car when I bought it out of state)

4th time I've been pulled over for that.  3rd time by a state leo.  All three of those guys let me go (tinting in pa is sort of a gray area)  The other guy did give me a ticket but I deserved it for mouthing off to him.

Im pretty sure they use it as a reason to see what's going on inside the car.  They're always surprised to see a reasonably dressed guy with his wife (who's generally knitting away) rockin the drug dealer car [laugh]

They always let me/us go.

I hope this trend continues with it becomes moto season again [evil]

I get pulled over once a month for window tint.
But my wife has a state exemption due to her iritis.

So they bluster and ultimately back down. The one that did write a ticket showed up in court all puffed up until the judge dismissed it with predjudice.

I used to have a friend who had that and had a medical document sworn at the court that would require the police to turn off their brights lights on the car because of it...they often were a little leery of the affadavit, but usually complied...I think that was also because she was a good looking female...

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

Ducati is the pretty girl that can't walk in heels without stumbling. I still love her.

We can only tint the top 6" of the windshield in NC.

That being said, I'll continue the complimentary nature of local LEOs...  "You realize I was going 83 and you were pulling away like a jet..."  Not that my M750 is remotely quick, but I thanked him for the reminder to keep and eye on things and we went our separate ways.

Funny...  Can't tint windshields in most states, but tinted visors aren't restricted.  Weird.

I believe it's because they can't see into the car, no matter how dark your shield is they can see 'you.'

To not derail (and lock) the thread, if they can't see you, you can still do anything and bolt.

If you get pulled over turn on your interior light so they can see in. My cop friend told me that and I do it if I get pulled over at night. It goes a long way with them. They never know what they are going to encounter when walking up to a car. I believe it has helped me on a few occasions.

Never wrestle with pigs. You both get dirty, and the pigs like it...

very good advice...one time I was pulled over for a headlight out and being that I had just picked up my stepdaughter and her friend from ballet class and their antics and dress, the officer politely asked me to take care of it and wished me a good evening and sent me on my way....

Yep.

Roll all the windows down, turn off the car, interior light on at night, keep your hands visible. Don't be rooting around in the car looking for your paperwork, wait until you are asked for it.

Great advice.  I shut the car off and put the keys on the dash.  Prolly overkill, but they know I'm not going anywhere.

I keep my paperwork/lic. in a conspicuous spot so I don't have to fumble.  Never thought to roll all the windows down.
