I'm so glad to hear he's starting to come around.

Exciting update about Mason today!!

Mo and I went and saw him about 7pm. Mo asked him how he was doing and he threw him the hang loose sign!

So, not only is he responding more to our visits, a little bit of the old Mase shone through today.

Here's hoping for a full recovery and to get our Mason back.

On a medical note, he still has the trach in. We spoke to one of his nurses and she said she wasn't sure when they will take it out, but when they do it will be a gradual process to wean him off. He is breathing on his own now, the trach is just there to help when needed and to keep the air moist.

Great news!

Yesterday Mo and I went and saw Mase. He has his trach completely removed, he is awake, talking, and eating solid foods. His brain is still not completely wired yet, as a lot of his sentences were slurred together or didn't make much sense. But the old Mase is definitely back! Lot's of F Bombs being dropped. I asked him if the nurses were hitting on him yet and he said "Pssssshhhh, which ones aren't?" He was very happy to see us and is aware that he's been gone a long time. I told him we've all been pulling for him and he said "Good, I've been pulling for you guys." It made me smile, but I told him he should just keep pulling for himself and he agreed. Like I said, he said a lot of things that didn't make a lot of sense but he seemed to understand that. His brain knows what he wants to say but it's not firing quite right yet so it comes out different. He still has a slight staph infection and now a bladder infection, but he's getting better by the second. His mood was really really good, he was in high spirits yesterday and was laughing and joking around with us like he used too. He told Mo and I we are going to Japan, and him and Mo are going to France also and kicking that Armstrong guys ass.

Here's to Mase, and his speedy recovery...  [beer]

Great news!

Are his visitation rights less restrictive?  I'd like to go visit but don't want to take away from family and friend time . . .

:'( that's the best thing I've read all whatever...  [thumbsup]

Next time say to him, "Mase, it's 10pm do you know where your wiener is?"

If he grabs it then it's drinks on me at Plan-B. Yeppie  ;D

You can go visit him anytime chuck. He's in the TRACU-15 section now at Legacy, no longer in ICU. His family comes and goes, but they will love it if you come see him. They only ask that you limit it to one or two people at a time. When you go in, you might want to remind him of who you are, he seems to have some trouble recalling people right away. If you want, I can meet you there and go in with you.

Yah, that'd be cool.  I'll PM you and try to work out a time for next week.

Hell, that's me most days.  Cheers Mase!

I went and visited him again on Friday, according to his mom they are planning on moving him to a rehab center in the West Hills on Wednesday.  [clap]

Hopefully they'll be able to take the metal apparatus that's currently on his left arm before they do that.

If all goes well, Mase will be on the next path to recovery.

Looks like all of us pulling for him is having a positive effect! Woo hoo! Go Mason!  [thumbsup]
