Hello to all!

New Duck owner here from the Sierra Foothills.  I just bought a shiny new 2013 Evo and am loving it!  Been riding for 31 years, worn out more bikes than I can remember.  I used to play racer at Willow once in a while.  Spent more time racing canyons than I should admit.  Now that I am getting a bit older and do not heal quite as well I bought the Duck with the intention of keeping her scratch free for a long time to come.  Two rides later I have barely managed to stay off the edges of the tires.  Seems I am never gonna grow up.

I am trying to figure out what I want to do to make the Duck my own.  Considered Termi's but have decided to stick with the stock cans as living in California brings enough LEO attention without running pipes.  Here in California I can't even buy them from the dealer any longer.  So I may just start with a total tail eliminator and adding the Rizoma side mount tire carbon fender with plate, some new levers and a plug for a heated vest.  I am still trying to decide if adding a bunch carbon fiber is going to make me smile or not.  I did go over the top and ordered up a new set of Ducati/leathers and a new Arai Corse helmet.  I should be pretty easy to spot up in the foothills [roll]

Memorable bikes I've owned.  There are a few others but these were all bikes I will never forget.
1983 Suzuki GS 250 twin:  First street bike, WTF was I thinking!
1985 Honda Nighthawk 700s:  Great bike for it's time.
1975 Kawasaki S1 250 Triple:  Fastest thing for one block just about ever. Just don't try to turn or stop it.
1989 Suzuki Katana:  POS Can-a-tuna.
1992 Honda CBR 600f2:  Bought it new I was so impressed.
2003 Buell XB9r:  Friends don't let friends buy Buells.
2003 Kawasaki Z1000:  It just felt good.
2004 Kawasaki Concourse:  Thought I was much older than I am.
1968 Harley Davidson/Aermacchi 125: This bike was ridden to a 1972 Bonneville world speed record in class and is currently under restoration.
2013 Monster 1100 Evo:  Why did I wait so long!

Two things I don't do.  Keyboard bullies and hypocrites.

welcome! i used to live at the north end of the Sierra's, way up past Susanville.

enjoy the bike, and keep the rubber side down!
Never wrestle with pigs. You both get dirty, and the pigs like it...

Yay, just purchased the Rizoma tail tidy, an LED taillight and I am going to line up for some Oberon bar end signals and mirrors.  Next off to decide on whether or not she is going to get pipes.  Anyone have much experience here in Cali with LEO's and Carbon cans?  I was going to blow it off all together but after watching 300 Harleys ride by with straight pipes I started thinking it will be no big deal on the Duck.

Time to go start a real thread I guess.
