Thanks for the welcome Mick.
Few quiet ales at the local? I was never wild but enjoyed a few before, toned down a lot now only having a couple every now and then, might be drunk twice a year. Really liking American Honey Wild Turkey though at present!

Nah name percieves to my last name, New. Kinda  got it at school which progressed to my first days at online forums (VW land) and kept it with me ever since.

Underground is pretty awesome huh! Very different world down there but I love it Got many nicknames, some applicable some not for posting haha, nature of the beast!

Hey Mal,

    Did twenty years at Westcliff Colliery, mainly panel work a little long wall but the best in my opinion was doing pillar extraction, I don't think you see that around anymore too dangerous.

Ended up outbye servicing all the diesel transport before I took retrenchment

Oh nice. South Coast man I see.
Yeah as far as I know pulling pillars is fairly limited these days, I've not got that experience either.
Doing lots of panel work at the moment, got a single entry dyke driveage to then blast before longwall moves through, haven't been on longwall coal since August because of massive float time.
I enjoy both panel and wall, for different reasons. Weekend dogwatch is a little tiresome for being 22yo but good crew and good work make up for it so its easier to go

Yeah dykes, they are a pain in the arse (oops  ) we were lucky we only had two dykes, we ended up getting Allied to go through them because they had a mole to do the drivage.

This will be an interesting read for those outside the industry.

Hi Guys .......... thought it about time I introduced myself properly after all the advice & assistance I've been given over the last few months in doing up a well worn / stock standard 2005 (much appreciated).

Tiger Terrific (aka Brett) from Sydney, love my 620 (hard to keep off it) and can't believe I drooled for so long over every Ducati I saw before actually doing something about it.

Have been only been riding for a short time (had my first ride up the Putty last Sunday morning) and going through the licencing process at the moment.

Not much else to say - family sort of guy with 3 little princesses  and looking forward to more discussions on this excellent site.

Welcome Tiger, I'm used to car forums which move pretty quickly but seems like some pretty knowledgable people here with nice motorcycles obviously. Im only new here aswell

I live in Sydney and am keen to hook up with like minded hooligans, hoons, as well as ladies and gentlemen, for group activities and rides. I assume your referring to the Victorians and Queenslanders when you mention, Hooligans/Hoons.

Us Sydney siders on the other hand, are a more Refind  Demure, group of Ducatisti, liking to a Gentlemens club.
Who enjoy the occasional fair weather group ride on Sunday's ,chat about social issues of the the day,  sip herbal tea and drink latte's with Pizza and Gelato.

Hi Rob, so hoon 101 followed by advanced hooligan studies aren't supported here, shame. I was keen to master the burnout, 50m wheel stand and figure eight donut, with a cert 4 in Bankstown police chase - but maybe that's undergrad WRX.  Might have to head across the border to Mexico to learn how to really ride.
