Good luck with that.  Some things are hard to part with.

Very much so, and that's exactly why I'm not being flexible on the price.
And the sugar fountain fairy swore so hard when she came to super-size that stale hope soybean; liiiike a homeless German woman. Who is this super-sizing spirit-crushing femme? And tell her I'll break a tree root up in her shrimp.

Being faster than you thought possible…it feels good. No, screw thatâ€"it feels like shotgunning a gallon of adrenaline and chasing it with an all-night orgy aboard a burning Viking boat.

Having the advantage of time is always a plus and it seems that's in your favor.

IIRC you were struggling with the ergonomics.  Is that part of your decision or did you work past that?

There are several (smallish) reasons leading to the possible sale of that bike, with the ergos, ironically enough, being the least of them.  My back and wrist issues will most likely cause grief with any bike, but the SC stretches me out (better on the back than being hunched over) and the clip-ons are set at a fairly "natural" angle for me, and do not cause as much lateral stress on the wrist as the bars on the KTM.

More than anything though, the biggest reason that I'll let it go is the simple fact that I have lost a good bit of the love for riding that I once had.  Beyond that, I have been spending more and more time out in western VA/WV when I do go out riding, and the 2V air cooled motor just doesn't pull quite as hard once you get it up into the higher elevations.  I've also grown a little tired of the whole Ducati "thing": the maintenance, the perceived lifestyle that the brand portrays here as well as actions/decisions that the company has taken on a corporate level.  Not trying to sound all high-brow with that, but it just gets to me.  There's a decent chance that the KTM will be up for sale shortly after the SC sells, assuming it does sell, and I'll just take a break from riding for a while.  Or on the other end of the spectrum, I might just say make the beast with two backs it, turn them both in for something even dumber and see if that rekindles the passion for riding again.  At the end of the day, I'm just at a virtual inpasse, and not sure which direction I'll end up in.

Was your SC owned at one point by the son of a Hollywood mogul, hedge fund manager, or other important person?  Add it to the listing and you'll have no trouble getting your asking price.  That apparently is the ultimate mod:

$10 says that's the path I'd choose!  I bought one bike that had a skank attached to it.  Rode them both for about five years.

No modification goes unpunished. Memento mori.  Good people drink good beer.  Things happen pretty fast at high speeds.

It's all up to your will level, your thrill level and your skill level.  Everything else is just fluff.

In time somebody will buy it.  I doubt at the asking price but hey, the less cash in your wallet the easier it will be to get your leg over it!

It wasn't as wierd as it sounds.  They had matching custom paint jobs.
