The place where I dug used to be a gravel parking lot but two years ago i put about 3 inches of topsoil on it and planted grass. But the grass has a hard time when it doesn't get watered regularly.

Hot shower feels good.

I have pretty good perspective with mattocks, and most heavy tools with handles.  They work hard, or harder, not much easy in the equation   ;)

With that you put the mattock away, get the hammer and drill, and make sure the fuse is long enough.  If it's done right, you're done digging

Where my house is its old marshy lake bed. The expensive property's on the hill get to dig through big Basalt boulders from the volcanic activity from ages past.
