Oh shit!! Had two friends that had Metrellas in the day when I raced Pursangs in the dirt. I'd cut off your left nut as sacrifice to own a Metralla today! No offense! Just business... [laugh] [beer] Didn't know that anyone left on this planet even knew what a Metrella was! [thumbsup]

More goodness... 1969 Bultaco Metralla

This is when the crank was rebuilt.  Bill Bune up in Minnesota fixed it up.  New seals, bearings, one new rod and one new crank pin.

I love the simplicity of the 2 stroke.  :)

A V twin design seems alot more complicated though, unless the cylinders are offset or there were two cranks.

Like this little Honda RS250 GP, V twin 250cc 2 stroke that makes close to 90 HP at 12,500 RPM ;D

Motor belongs to an EX Honda factory racer that we are busy rebuilding.

Yes that was the offset design i was thinking of. That doesnt look too bad. Just imagine an aircooled version that just happened to fit right into an 888 style frame and had an open clutch. About 500 or 600 cc's  [evil]

Don't look now, but your 888 is actually a SuperSport.   ;)

My second motorcycle was one of these with cafe bars.  I did not take pics back then but found this online.  Two stroke triple!  It was tremendously quick, did not turn, did not stop.  But it would rip your arms out of their sockets.  Wish I still had it they only let 500 into the U.S. before the DOT told them "no more" as they were to fast for their weight class.  Rode it 900 miles in one day once.  Left a trail of blue smoke from Redding CA to Portland OR and back.  Had to stop every fifty miles to get the feeling back in my hands and feet.

Two things I don't do.  Keyboard bullies and hypocrites.
Feel free to PM me if needed, otherwise you will find me elsewhere.

I love that story.
