Desert Ducatisti July Club Meeting

When: 7pm THURSDAY, July 24
Where: F1 Race Factory
            317 S. 48th St.
            Phoenix, AZ 85034
What: Food, Drink, a little Meeting, and Kart Racing.

I think we'll just do an "Arrive & Drive."  It's a more casual way of doing things and doesn't require a certain number of participants.  ON THE OTHER HAND, if we can get at least 10 driver commitments up front (by posting a reply below, as soon as you can), we can get a better deal and more goodies.

Basic a-la-carte pricing for non-F1-members is $25/race (you can join F1 for $20/year and save $5-15/race).

You can use your own full-face helmet or 1/2 helmet+goggles, so less chance of catching something... 

They have a nice, wide sidewalk where bikes are typically allowed to park...   


We've had a lot of new member sign-ups lately, so I'm hoping for a good turn-out and some good-natured competition.  Who's in?!

By the way, if you don't want to race, that's just fine.  All are invited to come to the meeting, hang out, watch or drive -- it's casual!

People, put this on your calendar!  It's ON! 

OK, don't put it on the calendar just yet... As happened last time we tried this, I just learned today that there may be an issue with another group there that night.  Would anyone have a problem with moving it to Wednesday or Thursday night, the 23rd or 24th?  Tuesday may still work, but with "limited racing."

Cool.  Put me down for 2 races, gotta plan for a re-match at least.

OK, I've basically reserved 2 heats for 10 racers = 20 total races.  We can divide it up, pretty much however, as long as we run at least 10 in the first heat (for example if 12 do the first and only 8 do the second, we've fulfilled our obligation).  We can run more than that, of course (up to 12 or so per heat, and we can add heats), so post up everyone -- Who's in?

So let me get this straight..there are no more Ducati riders in town that want some friendly air-conditioned competition on a week night?    If you can't take the pressure of Kart racing, you can always come hang out and cheer for your favorite underdog. (Hint: I suck at kart racing)

I would LOVE TO! Alas, I am 2700 miles away stuck in God Awful humidity...

Good meeting everyone. Had a great time racing. I would have gone faster had I not had those two extra wheels slowing me down. Looking forward to next time.
