What would a "brake adapter" be used for?

1/2-28 on the inside, 13/16-16 on the outside, some knurling and some slots.

adapting an inch-FAL muzzle device to an AR

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

Why would someone want to do that?

To make the beast with two backs with you

sort of like these:

convert your mosin from 7.62x54 (20c per round) to use 7.62x25 (which is now around 50c per round)

gun people make stuff "just because"

Low recoil meets low noise! Now you can make your 7.62x54R or .303 cal. Rifle more "town friendly" quiet. This blued steel Rifle Chamber Insert converts your gun to 7.62x25.

"Town Friendly?"

I do so hate being woken up by drive-by shootings!
It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.

Gun people are also considerate of others :D

Nothing yet, there are no threads in it.

I was going to thread it 1/2 28 for an AR

What sizes threads do you need?

I still need to get it threaded.  Trying to find some time to take the barrel to a smith to have it re-blued.  Will see about having that done at the same time.

For a 12ga.
