For the price they are rather good quality.  Like i said make sure and have a different rubber set for it.  The service was great through them as well.  I ordered it and it arrived to my APO address in 10 days!  Usually it takes at least 20.

So much for the side panel idea.... apparently one of them wanted to run away and flew off down the highway.  Oh well i wasnt 100% anyhow.  BUT i will most likely do a red subframe now!  Plus im in the middle of ordering a woodcraft tank panel to change colors.

OMG!!!! I have been wanting to put s4r wheels on my bike for 3 years!! That looks absolutely gorgeous. Ive asked the mechanic at my dealer and he didnt know if it could be swapped, but he said it would likely require shims. Anchorism. was that a straight swap?  or did you have to fab something up?  I have a 2009, no ABS.

It was a straight swap. As long as the brake rotors stay with the wheels they were on.  The 796 has a 5 bolt brake disk while the s4r has 6 bolt.  There is a lot of debate about the offset of the brakes but a buddy of mine has an s4r so we squashed it one afternoon.  I really love the wheels.  They are so much easier to clean and look amazing.

The next part for my bike is now rough fitted and the painting process will soon be into play.  I ordered the tank cover from Jeff at monsterparts.  I might do a little bit of modification to it but the look is great so far!  Now i can easily do the solid tank look.  Im thinking of painting it like the Titanium S4R or similar.  I was looking into something like a dark charcoal gray metallic with a black triple stripe down the middle.  Any thoughts or ideas of some other colors?  I am really set on using the double letter DUCATI logo on the tank.  Ill try and get some better photos over the weekend or sometime soon.

I have been looking at that tank cover, if it fits well it looks like a really nice idea. The multitude of screws on the stock setup is kinda screwed!

That 1 piece tank cover is a good idea.  Or "quick release" they should call it.  What are there like a dozen of those little damn tank screws?

SpikeC

I think that there are 65 of them.......

Yeah they are.

As for the tank panel, so far so good.  I spent about 4 hours on it last night making it better in my opinion.  My goal was to get rid of the center panel look so i sanded it down as much as i could and used filler to smooth everything out.  The pictures dont exactly show it well but the center of the tank is nice and smooth.  Next step is prepping for paint.  Ive still got to adjust the way it sits a little bit as the gas cap is slightly inset.  Other than that im really liking this panel!

Still got a little more to do but its coming along!

Hey man, What extra parts did you need to switch the the S*R rear sets? Im looking into doing the same thing if its cost effective compared to just buying a set from woodcraft or others.

Assuming the S*R rearsets come with all hardware, then you would need a couple more washers to space out the left side as it hits the swingarm otherwise.  Also some way to extend the brake pushrod.  One thing ive been meaning to do to mine is put the reservoir on a bracket because it just doesn't sit right where its at.

BTW here is an update of the tank.  I made a separate thread due to the amount of photos.
