My 900S got stolen a few weeks ago the day before I was supposed to take week off work to ride around some. The following week I scored a great deal on an S4R. I got my valves and belts done as well as synced the throttle bodies. So I took this week off to go on a get to know the new bike ride. After rolling 1,584 miles through 8 states I can say that I've gotten to know the bike and love that it's mine. So here's how the trip went:

Left Atlanta Tuesday morning for my parent's place in Burlington, NC. Had a beer in Charlotte, NC.

Wednesday morning rode to Richmond, VA to visit the Classified Moto shop and got a room for the night to wait out the rain.
Check out their newest bike Super Strada, http://www.bikeexif.com/honda-cb-cafe-racer

Thursday rode to Winchester, VA to say hey to Donnie at Duc Pond. From there rode to Cumberland, MD for lunch. After that, rode to see Frank Lloyd Wright's Falling Water house in Pennsylvania. After the tour, hopped back on the bike and rode to Slaty Rock, WV right by Snow Shoe Mountain.

Friday rode the rest of the way down 219 through coal country to Tazewell, VA to ride the Back of the Dragon road to Marion, VA. After that rode to Bristol, TN and on down to Asheville, NC to stay the night at my cousin's place.

Saturday rode home to Atlanta and spent the afternoon cleaning the hell out of the bike to get 1600 miles of road grime off it. All in all, a good time.

Thanks for sharing! I hope to do a road trip like this one day. [thumbsup]
Don't argue with idiots. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

 [thumbsup] Thanks Steve.

Edit: forgot to ask. How do you find the kriega? Is that us-30? Did it move forward while moving? I have the same set up as yours if yours is a us-30, but I've never used them both at the same time, only use either the 20 or the 10 alone.  I found that the 20 tend to move forward.

I have my us-30 packed and ready to go since last week, but things keep get in the way [bang] so it's great to read that someone actually went out for a trip.  [thumbsup]

Oh how I wish I had left the cowl off. They moved around enough to scuff up the cowl. I got caught in a lot of rain and all my stuff stayed bone dry though. Couldn't be happier about that.

I've never done a road trip like that before this week. I also have a wife who's good with getting me out of the house for a few days.

It was pretty loose trip. Only thing I planned on was visiting Classified Moto and riding West Virginia, everything was else was just a place to see.

Believe me, this isn't my last one.

Pics look great. Good road trips like that are food for the soul

awesome bike........great little ride report.

I think your ride is the best type of adventure, with no itinerary other than a couple place and no crazy mileage each day.

I have a couple like that scheduled for the summer

I love these kinds of road trips.

This reminds me. I want to get back on the road.

Nice pics. What part of Atlanta do you live in? I am in the Emory area and that bike looks familiar! Sorry to hear about your other bike getting stolen. Atlanta is notorious for motorcycles going missing.

I'm down in Grant Park. Yeah, sucks about mine getting stolen but this was certainly an upgrade. We meet up at Twain's in downtown Decatur on Thursdays. You should come out.

I haven't been to Twains in years. I will definitely have to swing by there soon.
