Gaspar, Melchior and Balthasar kicked me out of the band..... they said I didnt fit the image they were trying to project.

So I went solo.  -Me

I'm all for the advancement of electric propulsion (I own a Nissan Leaf) but for a sportbike I think this is still a novelty at this time.  The weight of the batteries pushes this bike to 550lbs; that's a deal killer for a sportbike in my book.  It certainly looks the part though and torque response is sure to be unmatched.  Once battery technology advances to the point where weight can compete with traditional sportbikes I'll have one in my garage  [thumbsup]

I was next to a Brammo Empulse R on the freeway yesterday.  Man, the engine whine on that bike . . . .  Still, it was pretty cool.

Also, I watched Eric Bostrom racing one earlier in that day at the AFM races at Sears Pt.  It was running in a Formula class that has smokers, Suke 750s and other random bikes.  Neat to see it going head to head with dinosaur-fueled bikes.   [thumbsup]
Occasionally AFM #702  My stuff:  The M1000SS, a mashed r6, Vino 125, the Blonde, some rugrats, yuppie cage, child molester van, bourbon.

Wow, that looks like a great ride. That regen could be scary in the wet though.

Yep.

Seriously, an electric motorcycle seems like a good idea until you want to go somewhere.  It's not weight... it's range.  If it can't go 200 miles on a charge at highway speed, I can't actually do anything with it except go to work.... and the bikes I have do that adequately, plus I can ride them to where ever I want.

An electric vehicle would tether me to home more so than my mortgage does... and that's not good for my sanity (neither are quiet bikes).

I'll pass and wait when I am a little older, to ride an electrical scooter :D

some press broke early...

160hp, 120 ft/lbs, 150 top speed, 140 mile range with a max of 200.

some pretty crazy sticker shock with the 60k price point... but that seems to be for a limited edition model.  mention of a production version at 30k... guess more info on monday.

Yikes that's expensive for the range.  I'll wait for hydrogen bikes.  ;)

Since most electricity in this country is generated by burning filthy brown coal....

I'll stick to my relatively environmentally friendly petroleum burning machines  [thumbsup].
