hey ungeheuer

does the 1100 have the same issues/rewards on the 14/15 change?

I know my old 900 was much better running a larger sprocket in the back for San Antonio riding

Ducati is the pretty girl that can't walk in heels without stumbling. I still love her.

Not Ungeheuer, but I do have plenty of experience with the switch.

(Sorry Ungeheuer)

The 14T is just better integrated all around with real road situations. For my money there are no real issues, just rewards. How about picking up an extra top gear that you can actually use for starters? And I've only hit the rev limiter just once by accident, in 1st gear only.

So like Ungeheuer says (I love spelling that name  ;D) it's the very best mod for the money, IMO.

^^  Took the words right out of my mouth  ;D

When I replaced the stock chain (bling made me do it) I took the opportunity to go with what I feel is a nicer way to achieve the 14t benefit....

In Aus market stock M1100s gearing is 15/39.

My first swap was to 14/39 (see what El-Twin said  [thumbsup]).
With new chain I switched to 15/42 (about the same ratio as 14/39 - just very slightly lower).
Finally settled on 15/43 (this seems to suit me and my riding environment - twisty back roads mainly - best).
