Machine is running.

Hopefully it stays that way.

In other news, I took an order from a new customer today for parts that they assemble for SpaceX.

I have no idea if these parts will ever leave this world, but it's still pretty cool :D

Shipping to Canda would make me international.  Shipping to orbit would make me interstellar :D

You're already stellar in my book so interstellar would be that much more gooder.

It's like I keep saying:  Those who would sacrifice a free range session for a giant beer, deserve neither free range time nor a giant beer.

i have had guys reach back and grab my crotch in an attempt to get around me. i'll either blow in their ear or ask them politely to let go of my wang.

It will forever be a happy memory in mind that at highway speed Travis started doing the wacky waving arm tube guy on his bike upon seeing one in a dealership we passed.  [laugh]

Well, the other machine is still offline.  Thank god I don't have anything hot lined up for it other than a small job for another DMF'er.

Failed Z axis drive.  It has a regenerative circuit in it so that as the axis rapids into position and then slows to a stop, the current back flows and gets turned into heat.  That's the portion of the drive that lost its smoke.

Good news, Mitsubishi had another one on the shelf.

Bad news, $6500

Better news, they can repair mine for $1800

Even better news, I found a place in Philly that does this sort of repair work in the hundreds of dollars range and I'm waiting for a quote.

The only thing that scares me about old machines (this one's from 1989) is that parts can sometimes be hard to fine.

Otherwise it's all kittens and rainbows when they run.

So this ones fixed as of two days ago. Any advice on revenge for a company that hosed me on repairs and cost me three weeks down time?

And they didn't even repair what was broken. Long story, so let's just leave it at "I want their building nuked from orbit."

And in brighter news, I was able to bring second shift back :)

Take them to court.

Even if you don't win it will cost them time and money to appear, and if you do you'll get some money back.

Is this the company that said they could fix it for hundreds instead of thousands?

Word of mouth.
I for one, promise to never have them fix any house sized machines here.

Its them. They quoted 14-21 days to repair and ship. I checked in at 14 days only to find out they couldn't locate some parts and really had no idea when they might be able to have things fixed.

I told him to return it unrepaired as I couldn't wait indefinitely. He got all snotty and was rambling about how they had 24 hours and $300 in parts in it.

Not my make the beast with two backsin problem buddy.

They waited a week to ship it back so I got it the Monday after he said id have it costing me seven more days. I'm convinced they did that intentionally.

Now my blood pressure is all up again. Where are those launch codes?
