Screen on or off?

My views have mostly already been expressed ... but before this thread gets off track I thought I'd add:

  • My Monster came stock with the bikini so it is hard to argue it is not part of the design/bike
  • Without support they wobble uncontrollably
  • The bikini can direct wind at you - like right at your head
  • No bikini exposes your bits and they stick out like the proverbial

Mine was removed for a short while to overcome an indicator related rotation, can't say I noticed any difference in wind buffeting ... but i don't travel at speeds where I am likely to notice.

I now sport the carbon shorty which is a reasonable compromise - low profile, covers the exposed bits (don't need them to drop) and indicators aren't obscured.
Believe post content at your own risk.

Hey all, with all this talk about ripping off the fairings (screens), does anyone have one laying around that they no longer need?
For a while now I've wanted to see if it's possible to modify an original screen to a lower height & still look good.
Just didn't want to hack away at mine, just in case it really doesn't work out...........
