The family has requested donations to a "9/11 charity of your choice"

I suggest we get together and make a single donation that will make everyone understand how important this man was to us.

BTW...T went to high school with a lot of those people that were there that day as was RAT...some are still alive. She might be able to find out which charities are most effective.

I'd be glad to handle the details.

I'll accept paypal donations to the "DMF Gerard Harrison Memorial Fund"

send them to the email in my profile as a gift so we can avoid fees. 100% of the funds actually collected will be passed on to the charity we select.

We can decide which charity later.

I've done some research on charities.

The one that seems the most fitting, to me anyway, is Tuesday's Children... http://www.tuesdayschildren.org/ They have all their financials online, and seem to be focused solely on 9/11.

If anyone has any other thoughts or suggestions pm me and I'll look into that charity.

This will run until Friday the 26th at which point I'll start the transfer process to my bank so I can make the donation on Aug 2nd.

It seems that was Gerry's birthday and is as good a day as any to make the donation.

We managed to put together $1243.83.

The odd amount was due to some fees, and exchange rates.

I'm going to round it up to $1250.

I'll make the donation next Friday.

Thanks everyone.

The donation has been made.

RAT's family will receive a card that a donation was made in his memory.

Thanks to all who participated.

I think Gerry would have approved.

I received a thank you letter from Tuesday's Children for our donation.

RAT's wife was cc'ed.
