This make the beast with two backsin' sucks...RIP Rat.  :'(

You know....   I haven't posted here a lot in the last few years, but I still lurk...,  This has got me posting again....    That is one story of his I always remember, but I remember he told an abbreviated version of it on the old site, just a response on someone else's thread...    I remember cackling unappologetically at my desk while co-workers looked on... 

He seemed like a good dude.  This is a real bummer.

I...like others here.... has had some connection to him.  For me it was kinds words when my father suddenly passed away at age 62 back in *07.

I'll miss him even though I didn't know him.

I've been away for a couple of weeks and just found this thread this morning.

I think it was obvious to most he was a man of rare insight, common sense knowledge, compassion and real world experience. The frequent sharing of those qualities here will be hugely missed.

Wow, I've been away for awhile.  This sucks so bad.  I thoroughly enjoyed his writing style.  Would have loved to have met him.  We shared a hatred for rats.  RIP Gerard.
