I'll have you know, I have diversified my oil company plastic portfolio and now am equally capable of owing money to Chevron/Texaco and Exxon/Mobil card services as well as Shell's. [coffee]

I found this article encouraging.  It's about Audi's expectations for the Ducati GP effort.  At least they're realists with the added benefit of VERY deep pockets [laugh]

Interesting bit from Valentino Rossi on his two Ducati years.  I admired him for never placing blame on the team for the bike's lack of competitiveness.

Vale's last two years with Ducati have been so bad that I was too embarrassed to wear my 46/Ducati stuff, even alone at home. I was cleaning out my closet Monday and threw the hat, polo, and the tee in the trash, because I wouldn't want to see a homeless person reduced to wearing them.

I knew yellow and red didn't go together the moment I saw it...

I bet in the next few years we'll hear all about his time at Ducati... would make one hell of a read/fireplace log  [bang]  [laugh]

He said he was always happy at Yamaha, with both the race program and the machine; that is, until the other alien landed, started winning races, and management let the wall go up in the garage to let the teams guard their knowledge. Now the wall is no longer seen as necessary - would that be part of the contract, or is the need for secrecy gone now?

Italians are so stubborn that they still haven't reduced clothing with Vale's number on it.   [laugh]

According to the BBC, Cal Crutchlow has signed a two year deal to race for the factory Ducati MotoGP team beginning next season  :o

Good choice!  [clap]  Crutchlow has been making a satellite team bike work like a factory team prototype this year. Maybe he can make the factory team prototype Desmosedici work like a factory team prototype Desmosedici next year. [cheeky]

HA!  I was merely hoping he could make the factory Ducati look as consistently good as the satellite Aprilia of Aleix Espargaro.  Baby steps...

Anyone going to the WSBK races at Laguna Seca in September?  Amy and I fly out Friday night and come back Monday morning.  Quick weekend but should be a fun one at the track with AMA and WSBK racing that weekend.  Bummer that WSS and WSTK won't make there way to the states.

That satellite Yam is pretty close to the factory hardware and miles ahead of the Ducati.  You also seem to forget that Dovi and Crutch were essentially the same speed last year and Dovi isn't doing jack on the Duati.  I wouldn't get your hopes up.  That being said, they can't get much worse, so anything going forward will likely be an improvement.  If anything, as Lisa said, they need to watch out for the Ape passing them by.  Those crt's are making more progress than the Duc factory team.

Nope, wish we were.  Sounds like a great time though.

Any chance you could bring me back a GP tee?   ;D

I can bring you back a Ducati WSBK shirt.  Will that work?  I picked a couple up for Amy and I when at Donington Park earlier this year.  Here is what they look like.
