So those of you who take pictures of the cars parked next to your bike....

If you can track the person down and confront them about it face-to-face, sometimes those people will crack and admit to their fault.

As for me, I don't bother with pictures, I just try and park as securely as possible.

The simple solution is to go ahead and wreck your bike.  That way who cares if it gets tipped over, its already all scratched up anyways.

Worst... advice... ever.

Sounds like advice that Trogdor would give... right before burninating the VILLLAAAGGES! :)

Well this is the original thread of my 695 getting knocked over, but I was lucky enough to be walking towards it when it happened...

The more I think about it I recognize that taking pix is probably not going to do anything... unless you wanted to be malicious later  [evil]
I was really lucky... Update: Bike's at the dealer, and the appraiser from the insurance co. went there today. Should hear what happens tomorrow.

I try my best not to park near questionable cars, but havent you ever ridden onto a 4 lane 2 way st and on every block is an SUV thats parked 3 feet from the next car? Granted i rather park where i have 7 feet with a questionable car, than 3 feet between 2 Hummers. Most of my stops are no more than 15-30 minutes so I aint got that much of an option. The off st's are all packed bumper to bumper and have no cops patrolling. The main streets all have a squad car on every block and foot patrols.

You pick. (or i can just buy a rat bike, which i really want to get a cheap dual sport to ride in the city)

I used to drive expensive sports cars ,Porsches and BMWs. I had a very hard time going anywhere and parking the car and having it be out of my sight. People liked to key expensive cars. For those who may not know what that means . A person walks along your car with a car key or some key about pocket level and you end up w/ a deep scratch the full length of the car.

Often the person keying your car can do it without anyone noticing them doing it . They just walk past your car with the key down and out of site and and scratch as they walk naturally then palm the key as they walk into the open and keep going.

So the whole side of the car has to be refinished. $$$

I don't drive those kind of cars anymore. I worry about leaving my S4Rs or 1098 R anywhere that I'm not right close. I'm not that accurate w/ a Walther PPk beyond 100 ' but I've got 7 chances.

To keep your bike safe the only answer for me is just don't put it in a risky place.

i went to the movies with my gf yesterday. when we got out i noticed that the car parked next to me had parked right up snug to my car. with no room for me to get in the drivers side. so i was forced to get in the pass side and "Cirqu De Solet" into the drivers seat. and still to this moment i dont know why i did it. but i opened my drivers door as fast and hard as possible and royally make the beast with two backsed that persons car. directly after doing so i regretted it, you know karma and all, and i have felt kinda bad ever since. but not bad enough to have left a note or anything. does that make me a dick?

... I'm totally cool with my friends saying "You remember when William bit it?!  That was awesome!  How do you explode in a fireball while being crushed under a waterfall?!  I don't think I'll beat that..."

No need to be malicious about it.  I do get a bit disgusted by people who can't park normally, though.  I've never had anyone so close that I couldn't actually get in the door, though.

And +1 on the poilice not being like CSI.
