ms inc - it's great you rode with a passenger heavier than you.

I'm worried in case I ever have to pillion the husband.
I'm @160 pounds
he's 300+ (he's 6'5" and wears it well)

That's 460+.  Can the bike handle that?  What if the belt breaks on his bike (like 3 times before) and I have to get him home?  Obviously, we're not doing this for a joy ride, but I want to know if I should leave him standing by the road so we don't kill the bike (2006 S2R1000).
Frickin' snow!

This is only marginally helpful.  The owner's manual on the S4RS states that total bike weight including oil, fuel, coolant, etc... plus rider(s) and luggage cannot exceed 390 kilos.  The bike weights 177 kilos dry.  Does anyone know what fuel, oil, coolant, brake and clutch fluids weigh?

I sure wouldn't want to find out.  That's an awful lot of weight at a high center of gravity to keep balanced at a stoplight.  I'd expect your rear suspension would be bottomed out or close to it.

Just what I thought.  First mod was to remove the passenger pegs, then the reflectors.  Neither of us wants to find out if the bike can support both of us....

Although, last time his belt broke (we've since fixed the problem) he rode pillion on a 1999 BMW 1100R.  First guy weighs 225 pounds, then chubby hubby behind him.  You should have seen the ass end of that bike - but it held!!!  Almost home, they hit the highway and just for shits and giggles guy #1 takes it to 100+ mph!!!  You could have built a house out of the bricks my husband was shitting!!!   [laugh]

(sure is funny when it happens to someone else!!!)

ms inc - another worry is that Windsor could 'steer' the bike with his weight.  He does it with canoes, etc and I'm wondering how much that could affect the handling.

At a traffic light, his feet would be down, so there's no problem balancing us at a stop light.  Same with getting on/off the bike - he just stands up (benefits of being tall).
Frickin' snow!

The smallest passenger I've ever taken outweighed me by 60 pounds. The largest one was easily double my weight. It's nothing to be afraid of. And as msincredible said, it was the only time I've ever been able to flatfoot my bike.

So many good suggestions on how to get out of it, but I think you are doing the right thing by taking her on a short ride and then staying firm with the "just friends" thing.
Post up and let us know how it works out  [cheeky]

Take her for a ride, it's not hard, just give her some pointers before you leave on how to lean and when you stop
to try and not lean on you, etc. My wife is a "curvy" woman and she is the best rider I have ever had hands down.
Plus chubby chicks tend to be alot more freaky than their thin counterparts, sure you just wanna be friends?
You might learn somethng, or get to try something you always wanted to.
Curvy girls rule.

stop hangin with big girls and tell her she should be running and not riding on the back of your bike. [evil]

I don't think it's exact, but lets see if we can get close.  Mind you these amounts are generalized, someone correct me if I'm way off.

Fuel - 3.5 gal x ~6lbs/gal = ~21lbs
Oil - ~5 quarts x 1.7lbs/qt = 8.5lbs
Clutch/Brake fluid - ?? Anyone? Bueller? For the sake of argument, lets go with half a pound total.
Coolant....... Don't have any idea.  I'm on an S2R so that aspect is N/A.  Lets go over and say a gallon, so, give or take, 8lbs.

Total comes up to 38lbs or ~17.24 kilos.  God I love google.  That leaves ~195kilos, or 430lbs for driver, pillion, and what have you.  Does anyone know if these ratings are based on frame strength or the overall stability of the suspension/linkage?  It would be interesting to know if you could create a super monster with a few after market goodies.
We're liberated by the hearts that imprison us.  We're taken hostage by the ones that we break.

Yeah that was a funny video.  That's pretty much it right there.  Although the chick in question for me isn't as heavy as the chick in the movie.

Pictures?  What you expect me to take a pic of her ass and post it here?

I have thought about putting the seat cover back on and telling her the nuts are stuck so I can't take it off.  But that won't put in end to her asking.  I'm also afraid a little ride around the block will only make her want more.  And she'll think she can get it from me  [bang]

I should share a positive ride experience.  I recently popped a woman's motorcycle cherry.  She loved it, of course.  She says she feels so free when she's riding  [thumbsup] This girl totally gets it.
Don't look at this.

Yeah, that reminds me of a specific girl.

I gave her a ride on my S4 and then she totally got it.   :)

Nice job Jarvicious!

Here's the warning from the manual on weight limits.  Sounds like more having to do with operations (suspension, chain, brake) than frame strength...

Warning
Failure to observe weight limits could result in poor
handling and impair the performance of your motorcycle,
and could result in loss of control.
