I wanted to take a minute and post up about both my seat and the experience I had with the company.  This is also a lesson about being nice and patient when things don't go your way   

First let me say I have been riding for a long time and owned many bikes with many types of seats.  I have had one Corbin (don't ask), a couple of Sargents seats and a few others from a variety of custom shops, plus one I made myself.  Nothing I have had, has felt as good as the Saddlemen I put on my 2013 Evo.  I could go on and on about how good the gel and the split feel on my 48 year old bum and bits, or how it no longer burns a hole in my ass.  Simply put, it is extremely comfy.

Now on to the company.  As you can see from the picture below, the first seat they sent me had a tiny but annoying issue. 



I was not going to worry about it because it was just that darn comfortable.  However, after about 600 miles of riding (and multiple seat removals) I noticed that the rubber bumpers were not wearing well so I gave their customer service line a call.  I left a message and to my surprise my call was returned by Buster in customer service that day.

Buster was quite concerned about the rubber bumpers wearing out prematurely and asked me to return the seat for evaluation.  I quickly agreed as I am a fairly easy (until pissed off) customer to deal with.  Buster sent a call tag right away.   

While talking to him about my seat I also mentioned that I was not to keen on the logo being half hidden (now do you see the tiny issue?) behind the seat cowl and he seemed quite surprised and asked for a photo.  I sent him one that day. 

The next day I heard back from him and he sounded genuinely embarrassed while apologizing for the seat being sent out that way.  He promised a fix on the new seat he was going to make and asked if there was anything else he could do to make it special. 

While I could not think of anything (besides maybe flatten it a bit) he suggested what you now see in the pictures below.  Oh and he flattened it out a bit!





All I can say is that never in my experience has a seat manufacturer (hell most manufactures) been not only so responsive, but ridiculously apologetic, accommodating and easy to deal with. I give Saddlemen and Buster many   So does my bum

My only regret is that my bike is in the shop on warranty and I can't post the pics mounted up.  I will as soon as it gets back later this week.

I'm impressed, sounds like a good group of folks. Nice seat to boot!

 I wonder if they have one for a Bimota?

i have a friend who has a saddleman on his very custom gsxr 750.  The other day were were going up to Palomar and he said "the seat is my favorite thing on that bike."

I'm hoping my experience is the same as all the above.

I just bought a saddlemen for my big ktm

 They don't make one for the Bimotas.

I wish I had seen this post before I bought a Sargent seat for the 2000 Monster 900 I recently bought.  The stock seat was designed by Torquemada for sure and the Sargent is better but has an annoying bump at the front--just where your junk rests.  Also a bit hard. 

I wonder if Saddlemen make a seat for older Monsters?  Gel sounds nice.

 Most seats have the covers secured with staples, remove the staples from the front half and you can wire brush the foam for a custom fit.

Saddlemen uses pop rivets.
