DP ECU Tuning

OK, first off I apologise guys. I'm sure this question was already asked like a zillion times - but - I'm about to ask it again.

2007 Monster S4Rs with full Termi system and DP ECU.

It absolutely flies above 5k but runs link a bag of shite around 3k to 4k. Bang on where you always are around town or in traffic. Feels rich, hunts and stumbles all the time. My local dealer has set the TPS and leaned it off a little. It is better but not fixed.

Is there a guaranteed solution? PC3?

Would be really interested in the experiences out there in Monster land....

Thanks.... [thumbsup]

I put on a QD X-box with a PC3, tuning and it still does it a little bit in the 4-5K. I'm on an S4R. One of the guys I ride with has a 996 with Mavic pipes, PC3, tuned and his does it too. I've just accepted that I ride a temperamental who doesn't want to run errand but get on the open road and go fast.

same bike same problem have read every post regarding this, still no better off. I feel like the S4RS is the forgotten child of the Ducati family.

Does this note on the PC website have any bearing on the problem?

Note: Powercommander will NOT allow fuel adjustment below 19% throttle and below 5250rpm unless you have the DP ECU

best way to do it is a custom map.

The maker of your ECU (MM) will unlock it for ~$350.
then you are free to write onto the map whatever you please. I got a custom dyno tune directly on my ECU. Runs great.

That's interesting, when I get above 5200 rpm it all goes away.

the dp ecu in the s4rs is open loop, so the fatduc is of no worth, and the pc3 will work across the entire range.

the s4rs ecu wasn't too bad if it was tuned properly.

.........

Which is why I suppose that Power Commander includes the referenced caveat. Thus, PC3 alone = fuel adjustments above 5200. PC3 + DP ECU = ability for full range adjustments.
