StupidDuke 1290R ride review....

http://www.asphaltandrubber.com/reviews/ktm-1290-super-duke-r-review/

It just gets worse.   [evil]  I bet the thing sells for over $20K here and they'll sell every last one of them.
No modification goes unpunished. Memento mori.  Good people drink good beer.  Things happen pretty fast at high speeds.

It's all up to your will level, your thrill level and your skill level.  Everything else is just fluff.

Got a question for you Orange People ;D.
Buddy has a 2012 Duke 690, but lost his manual. What is that adjustable, numbered dial under the passenger seat for? ABS, power modes? His is set on 0.

Called the map select switch

You want 2  [evil]

0=bad gas
1=limits power, good for rain, dirt low traction situations
2=full power and all the jerkiness that goes with it
3-9= standard normal setting

From the manual
QuoteSwitch off the ignition by turning the ignition key in the position (690 Enduro EU, 690 Enduro AUS/UK)   (690 Enduro USA).
â€"   Remove the seat. (   p. 58)
â€"   Pull the Map‐Select switch and holder  upward off of the retaining bracket.
â€"   Pull the Map‐Select switch out of the holder.

â€"   Turn the adjusting wheel until the desired digit is next to marking .

Set the Map‐Select switch to Soft.
â€"   Set the adjusting wheel to position 1.
Soft â€" reduced homologated peak performance for better driveability.

Set the Map‐Select switch to Advanced.
â€"   Set the adjusting wheel to position 2.
Advanced â€" homologated performance with extremely direct responsive- ness.

Set the Map‐Select switch to Standard.
â€"   Set the adjusting wheel to position 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 or 9.
Standard â€" homologated performance with balanced responsiveness.

Set the Map‐Select switch to poor fuel quality.
â€"   Set the adjusting wheel to position 0. Poor fuel quality
â€" homologated performance is reduced in accordance with
the fuel quality, use for no more than 1 tank of fuel

â€"   Position the Map‐Select switch in the holder.
â€"   Slide the Map‐Select switch with the holder downward onto the retaining bracket.
â€"   Mount the seat. (   p. 58)

The KTM manuals in PDF form are online from KTM - he can just download a copy.

Talking to Superplush suspension never ends well for my wallet. New shock collar, new springs and possible re-valve for my SMC>Enduro conversion project.

Money spent on suspension is never money misspent.

Test rode the "Duke 125" . . . :o hard to believe it's a 125 !!!

Might have lowest grade Brembo components but, they do a pretty good job . . . but, $4800 ???

Ducati is the pretty girl that can't walk in heels without stumbling. I still love her.
