Well, I was going to hold this in reserve, but my little bro who FINALLY started riding almost two years ago now (when wife finally relented) was, when last I checked, up to TWENTY EIGHT, including seven registered daily riders and MOST of the rest are running.
pesto and Kev M are getting the hang of it  [thumbsup]

And Pedro-bot is winning with 223 bikes, so that should help bring the average up  [thumbsup] [thumbsup]

I'm safe.  My wife isn't keen on my desire for a motorcycle collection either but fortunately for me she's a guitar hoarder so when I want another motorcycle I can just say "yeah but like guitars, they're all different.... "   [evil]

I don't collect motorcycles (have no where to put them, no desire to keep them, and no money to waste on static displays of awesome). And if I get the urge to look at old motorcycles I go over to the Solvang Motorcycle Museum (haven't been through the doors for about 7 years now, so you can tell how much old iron interests me), but I'm really not that nostalgic about motorcycles. My favorite motorcycle is usually the newest one.  Old motorcycles are.....old, not that interesting, and prone to breakage.  Same with cars.  Everyone is all crazy right now about muscle cars.....I owned them and drove them when they were new, and unless you had the top of line example of a particular model, what you had was a production car, a late 60's/early 70's production car that was full of fail (planned obsolescence). It blows me away how much people are paying for those things.  yeah, they may look cool, but I grew up when they were all over the road and all my friends were driving them.  ho hum.. anywho... At one point I was up to 5 motorcycles, and I realized I only rode 2, so I scaled back and kept the ones I rode.  Right now I have 3 (one is up for sale), and I have a scooter.  And that is plenty. I want to get down to 2 MC's, and upgrade my scooter to a Vespa GTS300 SS se, then I should be set for the next 5 years or so.

Please don't get defensive about your collections, I really don't care what you collect, I was just stating that collecting "things", no matter what they are is not something I do anymore.  I'm at the point in my life where if I'm not using it, I'm losing it, cause I obviously don't need it.
I'm all out of clever.

Bonster

I have 2, a Monster and a Bonneville.

One of the reasons I bought the Bonneville was because the Monster is such a terrible 2-up bike.  The best part about doubling my wife on the Monster was the tremendous feeling of joyful liberation when she finally got off the bike and left me alone to ride, and she's a small woman.

In truth, 99% of my riding is still solo, but at least I have the potential to include her, and that's what got the second bike in the garage in the first place.  Are you following my logic?

I have my Monster, the 1199 Tricolore and the R-1. I also have a Kawasaki which is a few boxes at the moment.

3 is a good number.  I have a Monster, Bonneville and Tiger 800.  Fast fun, relaxed day out and long ride adventure.

Well I have two, but want three.  The Monster is my streetbike, the Gixxer is my track bike and I would like a third bike, an adventure bike. The adventure bike for two up riding and riding holidays.

The average # of bikes that most people have = # of bikes you have + 1
And then you can always revise that number in the future ;)

1 at the moment. I do not have a stable for the horses. If I had the place and the money, I'd go for 2 may be 3...

They are a perfect match for me!
I've got two bikes, a monster 620 and a Sport 1000s.  Right now that's all my budget can sustain. but if you have the means, and the space to keep them, why wouldn't you add one or two more?  It just adds to your options.  Want to trail riding? take the dirt bike or the dual sport.  Want to go touring? take the cruiser.  Want to go fast? take the track bike to the track.

Skybarney

Two for me.  The Duc and my uncles almost restored HD - Aermacchi.

Want four total, Need to add a Multistrada and a DRZ to the stable to complete my happy bubble anyway.
Two things I don't do.  Keyboard bullies and hypocrites.
Feel free to PM me if needed, otherwise you will find me elsewhere.
