He has an awesome new project in the works.  A good friend and co-worker will be the driver. They are hoping to hit 1,000mph this time. More info here  http://www.dailyrepublic.com/news/riovista/breedlove-gunning-for-1000-mph-car/

I just so happened to be around when Breedlove did that and somehow actually remember it.

Just sold my 916SPS to my friend's brother who broke the 1965 Goldenrod piston engine record (409.27mph) in 2011 with a 2 way average of 414.316mph at Bonnie in his 'liner Spirit of Rett named after his son who died of cancer in 2005. My old SPS sits in pretty good company in his office... Supermono, Britton, 999R, Honda 500ccGP bike, Indy and LeMans race winners, 1964 289 Cobra, assorted Ferraris and McClarens and a couple of F1 cars just for fun. Nice office to work in, eh? ;) [thumbsup] [popcorn]
I plan to list the Federal Gov't. as a dependent on my next 1040 tax filing!

I have flying honey badgers and I'm not afraid to use them!

The fact that flame throwers exist is proof that someone somewhere said "I'd sure like to set those people over there on fire but I'm just not close enough to get the job done."

CONFIDENCE: the feeling you have right before you understand the situation.

he's got a tough road ahead it sounds like.  the british team is pretty well funded
and making good progress.  it'll be difficult to catch them (no pun intended).

I'm not into cameras/pics but this guy is pretty private about his collection of stuff. If I had what he owns I'd be pretty careful about it myself. Don't think he'd let me snap a bunch of photos and post them on the internet. I was allowed in the inner sanctum because I have been friends with him and his brother since I was a kid. We all went to school together and I've known their kiddos since they were born.

I might try and get my 17 year old step son over there sometime to eyeball the collection. Some of it would be over his head (history wise...) but he could appreciate it all on a basic gearhead level. Two of his favorite dvds are Steve McQueen's "LeMans" and Dana Brown's "Dust To Glory" so I think he'll be all right. [thumbsup] ;) But trust me, I'd LOVE to be able to show pictures of all his toys that sit right outside his office door. Like I said, sweet digs to work in. What an office view! :o [popcorn]

fastwin- Personally, I'd just want detailed pics of the Britten honestly...I could stare at all aspects of THAT bike for hours.....my peeps with me had to peel me away from the one in the Barber museum ( which wasn't that hard with EVERYTHING else to look at there)

Yep, he's got one of the ten on a stand right outside his office door. Plus a couple of spare fairing parts.

I remember going to his house in January 2005 after his son died for sort of a wake. He pulled me aside and talked my ear off about getting ready to close the deal on the Britten. I believe someone in California owned it at the time. I guess he wanted to talk scooters with me to take his mind off the fact his house was full of people and because his 21 year old son had died of cancer the night before. Great, brave young man. He'd fought bone cancer since he was 11 years old. You can't buy enough Brittens and other toys to take that pain away. As I said, he named his two streamliners after his son.

OK... back to Breedlove.
