I have never in my life bought a new bike. And I really dig that this is going to be a very hard to obtain model within a few years. I think buying new bikes and spending 5 figures is insanity, but I also like leaving no possibility at regret, aside from the $$$$ lost. The itch is never going away so I may as well scratch it.

Bought four bikes in two years. I am likely not your best advisor 

Why the 1098 over the 848? Seems like the 848 would make the correct amount of power for you/ anyone looking to shred around an urban environment… and be a lesser investment.

Am I missing something obvious... its a new bike but has been sitting for the last 4 years?
