Speedbag

I've got a B-M .45....IIRC, the name is stamped on the slide.

They can be had pretty cheaply, I picked mine up for $300 with three boxes of ammo, and it had been recently re-blued.

Handled some 1911s this weekend.  The Ruger feels nice.  The rest aren't all that budget friendly.

What maker would have Argentina stamped on the slide?  Saw it in the used section and couldn't see the maker stamping.

The Ballerina Molester

It's a 1911 derivative.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

Will do.  Rock Island seemed to get nice reviews and was about half the Sig & Springfields.

The Rock Islands have gotten good owner reviews too and are priced really low for what they are.

It might be a Ballester-Molina, or a Colt.

Or neither.

Argentine made 1911's aren't Colts but they are considered as such for valuation purposes.

Initially these were made by Argentina and called Sistema 1911's (I've got one). They used colts methods and dies but paid a royalty to colt. They got tired of that and the Balister Molina was created. No royalties but they use some of the same parts as the actual 1911.

I paid $400 for mine and that was probably a deal. Serial number puts it as made in 1943 and god only knows how many rounds have been through it. Its pretty loose but still shoots as well as my eyes will let it. I've avoided upgrading anything on it as its all original (numbers match on the slide, frame and barrel)

Keep it as is. If it still shoots OK and makes you happy then leave it alone. I have some old Colts that I would never mod. They're like me... old, worn, have some issues but they still run and don't jam. ;D

Just dropped by a buddy's house.  He inherited some cool stuff.  Including a Smith and Wesson 460 and a .500........also a couple .45 revolvers.

Those X-Frame 460 and 500 Smith revolvers should come with wheels!

I'd hate to see the bores of those shotguns after the razor blades and drywall screws.
