Has anyone successfully removed an anodized finish from aluminum and polished?

Basically I'm hoping to go from this:

To this:

Without too much hassle.

Well it's going to be a hassle, but not too bad since the part is not to big. Some of those places around the screw holes will be a pain.
I would try some Easy-Off oven cleaner and steel wool first. Then get a RED scotchbrite wheel for a drill. Walmart sells them. DO NOT USE THE BLACK WHEEL! If your lucky you won't have to sand anything depending on the finish you want. The scotchhbrite will leave a nice brushed finish. Keep the wheel moving in a circular pattern so you don't cut any grooves.

ive stripped but no anodized.

Ive done exactly as Randy said, yellow can of EZoff and some polishing. HOWEVER, make sure you dont leave it on too long. some anodize will lift and the ezoff will contiue to eat at the aluminum. if its on long enough, youll get some pitting, it also depends on the base metal and anodizer as well.

On a SPeedy moto one Ive done, it came out perfect. poished it up and rod it like that for a while and then powdercoated it black before swapping covers to a woodcraft.

Once you've polished it, be sure to anodize it again, to keep it from oxidising.

Hey Suzy; could I just spray it with some matte clear to accomplish that? thanks

Sure, but wouldn't it be easier to just spray the black part silver?

Yeah, but I'd imagine the brushed bare aluminum with a clear coat would look better. I love me the billet
