"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

For a 2 l class motor.  My 1.9 tdi has like 90hp

Yep, I was thinking more great than not bad.

That 2.2 is a stout little diesel.  The current 2.0 Jettas are 140HP and 236ft/lb.

FWIW, the Duratorq makes more torque than my gas V8 makes, with half the cylinders and slightly less than half the displacement.  I'll also be it does WAY better than averaging the 13-15 MPG my V8 does.

Got Torque?

That's pretty darn good. Still a Ram/Dodge product though.

Everything besides the engine and tranny.
Which is the problem.

Chrysler always made good engines and transmissions...

it's the rest that sucks.

Hate to disagree with the El Hefe but I had nothing but problems with the tranny and hated the thirsty and sluggish 318 in my Dodge van ;)

The 318 wasn't their best work.

The 426 Hemi was a work of art. ;D

Yes, that was first rate technology especially for its time. Wouldn't want to be the one taking
it to the trough at todays gas prices though ;D
