Why joining forum:  Need advice and looking for other area riders

Hi there. My husband and I are new riders (only about two months) and are really having fun. Picked up a lightly used M696 for a great price from a reputable local dealer. Yes, we took our class, are licensed and insured. I know it's a big bike to start but we could only afford one bike initially and at 5'3" (me)  and 6'5" (hubby) finding a bike we could both fit was HARD. Add in that my husband is missing his left leg...gets harder. The Monster fits us both and we're taking it easy in the neighborhood for now till we both get comfy.  That said, yesterday I had to relearn exactly what they taught me in class...that whole no braking on a turn thing. Laid our gorgeous baby right down and laid my shoulder right up. Feel like such a moron. Going to have to heal up and replace a few things and get back up and try again. Been lurking for a bit on this and other forums while shopping. Figured it was time to say hello and admit my newb status!-

Welcome to the board. Sorry to hear about your get off, but it sounds like you came out all right.

Check out the local clubs section if you haven't already found it for other Florida riders, and the Tech section is a must if you are going to do any work on your own bike.

Happy holidays!
Never wrestle with pigs. You both get dirty, and the pigs like it...

Thanks herm!! Shoulder is still super sore but slowly getting a little range of motion back. Knee is still swollen but I really think that's all it is.  Visit to the ortho next week will hopefully confirm.  Mostly feel like a fool since I really did (in my head) know better but apparently my right hand had other ideas :(

Hey guys, I am from florida too; in Miami. Take my S4 to Homestead track and also West Palm beach. Heard good things of Jennings but that is far for me. Those to spots are nice. There is a track day coming up in Homestead, Feb 2. Be sure to stop by.
