Recently re-subscribed, but I'm having flashbacks of why I stopped....

Lappy PC with Win7, Firefox 26.0, Silverlight 5.1.20913.0
2.2 GHz CPU, 2 GB RAM.
C-drive has 37 GB free.
With Firefox browser open, it'll be under 10% CPU activity, and 1.1 GB memory in use.

Open a Netflix tab, click on a movie, and it will stream fine.
CPU activity will settle down to ~50% while streaming, with 1.2 GB memory in use.
While streaming, if I try to move forward or backward, it will start buffering, but CPU activity will go 100% and it won't finish.

Internet chat on the netflix helpline ended with them suggesting that I back up all my files and re-format the hard-drive.
I'm not happy with that proposed solution.

Oh, I've got a weekly defragment set, and I re-checked all drives, 0% fragmented.

I've been seeing the same issue with IE. I switched to Chrome and had much better luck, though it hasn't been perfect.

Capt Phillips in HD

Saving Mr Banks in HD last night

All for free ( I use a Raspberry Pi ) but any laptop with HDMI will work

Try installing the latest ver of FF and update all addons(silverlite, flash etc..). In FF advanced options uncheck "use advanced hardware acceleration".

Ok, I guess I'll say it.  It's free (e.g. In the case of 'saving
Mr banks') in the sense of 'i stole it so it didn't cost me
Anything'.

~~~SNIP~~~
Thanks!
I tried that, it's still locking up in NetFlix when stepping forward or back.
It apppears that Shockwave Flash is getting into a fistfight with something, as I'll get a script warning.
Isn't using these "free" methods theft?
You wanting to arrest someone on New Years Eve? ;D
