I flew paragliders for 13 years and 3600+hours and have flown many of the spots in that video.  Used to slide around all over the place and do some sill silly stuff.  We turned malfunctions into tricks lol.

I can't thank you enough for posting that up as it reminded me of why I am thinking of getting back into the gig without being involved in the business or making it work as a paying gig this time.

I would be happy to show you some great VHS tapes sometime, if only I could find a player lol.

That looks amazing!

Looks like fun too.

How is he gaining altitude?  Catch thermals near cliff faces and buildings?

Paragliders like all soaring aircraft are always descending in their air mass.  Modern para-gliders go down at about 250fpm.  There is enough wind moving up the front of the buildings and cliffs that the pilot can climb in the air mass despite the para-glider actually descending.   [Dolph]

A treadmill can be had for as low as $50 on Craigslist. The rest? I dunno.

All the gear new is about 5k.  That's glider, harness reserve and helmet.  Lesson another $1,500.  Add in medical costs as 1 in 4 that play that game see an emergency room.  Not so much flying ridge lift on nice ocean cliffs but flying thermals in the mountains.  Personally I have been to 22k and flown one over 150 miles.  They are big fun.

That looks like a lot of fun... I have always enjoyed the canopy ride after freefall while skydiving... I can't imagine that portion lasting for 150 miles.
