It was good seeing everyone I ran into on Ducati Island!

[moto] Great ride with Dickwrench13 + Maria in the wee hours of Fri. The things we saw...
Bursting through the fog atop hwy 35 to see the sunrise down below over the cloud blanketed Bay and Pacific.
Sun piercing the redwood forest on 9; too many  [leo] to count on 1 through Monterey county, and a safe arrival home away from home at Laguna Secca. Double  [thumbsup] [thumbsup] for organizing a great route.
Great BBQ at the Desmoquattro/Bikergodess' camp.
Thanks Gogira for the Hotel hook up and the amazing fish diner!

The Race:
If Casey didn’t win at least he came in a mighty second and not without a tremendous effort! No – Yes, A get off, a get back on before anyone passed him and then to finish second with the top overall speed and best lap time of the race! Holy pajamas – KUDOS Casey!
And If Casey didn’t win, at least it was Vale, and with a balls to the wall fight to the finish. What a freaking race. IMHO this was a matter of experience vs/ a lot less experience.
Rossi stated pre-race the only way to beat Stoner was to “shoot him...”  [laugh]

The Island

Not enough parking Sat. on the island was corrected a little when they packed us in Sunday into every available Sq ft. Anyone see hear the Rev-sound-off?

I over heard a group of old Italians with VIP badges sitting around espresso’s talking about what to do on Ducati Island next year. They all agreed they had to turn it up a notch on the island because of Ducati’s success in the GP. They said people expect a lot from us now, and ‘we have to deliver. ‘ The manager of the SoCal Ducati shop reported an average $70k day Saturday in the store. They might have something really cool next year in store for us.

Thats nice to Know about Ducati turning it up next year. I'll be sure to be there next year. The Race looked good on TV though. We saw it once at Pattersons Pub in Mendocino but after the subsequent ride I went Home and watched it again in HD and it looked way better. Plus I could hear the commentary this time.  ;D

Anyone recognize this guy standing next to Casey and Hotness? This is the guy I sat next to in the Ducati hospitality tent and overheard all that:

I'll sum up simply. I'm tired. I'll post more later, with pics.

1. Amazing early morning ride through the mountains with Maria and Desmostro.
2. Hanging out in the  Alice/Pramac Team garage with the guys.
3. Red Bull VIP party w/ E-Boz, Toseland, Nicky, Silvan, John C, RayBob, Liam & Schwantz.
4. No leo problems.
5. Great ride home via 9 &35
6. Looking forward to sleeping in my own bed.

He seemed like a pretty cool guy. I guess he's seriously on it. Sounds like they're planning on hunkering down and doing something extra next year on the island. That's fantastic.

Good seeing you on the island btw, however briefly.

You'll need your registration or insurance card, plus a photo ID.

Generally the owner and a passenger are acceptable with one proof of ownership. Obviously a Monoposto bike would be pushing your luck.

With parking, and traffic, as bad as they will be at an event like this, lots of folks will pair up w/ a buddy and ride in. Doubt they would think it odd that yer pops rode bip w/ you.
