Sorry to hear about the crunch.  A couple more things to check (because my bikes have fallen over so many times)...

-the kickstand may be bent
-the index pin on the left handlebar controls may have broken off.  It's a little plastic pin that fits into a hole on the handlebar.  You definitely don't need it, but you may want insurance to pay for a new set of controls if it broke.

The kickstand is bent, I guess I forgot to mention that earlier.
The pin is gone, but that's because I cut it off years ago when I was running different bars.

damned blue hairs!  sorry boss.  I cringe when I see people trying to parallel park near cycles and fear that one day this hellish scenario will be mine too.

depends on the municipality, county reg.s, state bylaws, and federal mandates.  so basically no.   

Just be glad you weren't on it. A lady clipped me on my bike and claims that I crossed the double yellow line and now the insurance company is dragging their feet on the bike and my personal injuries.

Looks like my insurance isn't covering it anyways, so I've got to sue his insurance for property damage coverage since the bike was parked.

That sucks man... Glad you weren't on it at the time.  And yes, broken steering stops can total out the bike (happened to mine).
