I have a 2002 M750.  I have Rizoma Reverse Retro mirrors and Rizoma bar ends.  The bar ends have a rubber insert that goes into the bar, and when you tighten, supposedly locks the bar ends into the bar.  The mirrors mount to the bar end.  The problem I'm having is that no matter what I do (tape, caulk), the bar ends/mirrors starts to rotate while I ride.  The Rizoma site recommends using bar ends with metal collets as inserts instead of the rubber insert.  Rizoma's bar ends all have rubber inserts now.  I need a solution.  Anybody have an idea?  Anybody know of a bar end that has the metal insert and will support a mirror?

I have these.

They're very versatile and ultra adjustable. Plus you can get spare parts for them pretty easy.

 I have the rizoma spy-R 80, they are beautiful. The kit came with a small and large size bar insert, they installed easily and mount the mirror extremely tight. Maybe you have the wrong sized insert?

The best clamping system I've ever encountered is employed on cheapo mountain bike bar end mirrors for some odd reason. I have Rizoma bar end caps that came with a variety of fittings and I, like you, was never able to get any of them to work properly. I've contemplated a way to make a system like this:

Now I have the Driven D-Axis which I love;

My old Rizoma mirrors came with a metal insert, which I used instead of the rubber one that came with the bar-ends.  It was solid as a rock.  The current Monster has the same mirrors but they were installed by the previous owner so I have no idea what they used.  No issues though.  Perhaps you could order the metal part from a Rizoma supplier?

Yeah those Reverse Retro mirrors come with metal replacement inserts for the rubber one's, did you not get those with your mirrors? Call up Rizoma, they'll send 'em for free.

I have the CRG Lanesplitter mirrors on my bike mounted with the CRG bar end mounts.  They come with a bunch of metal wedge shaped pieces that all kind of fit together and when you tighten the allen head screw it all snugs up nicely inside the bar.  I've had mine on for 3 years and 15k miles and I've never adjusted them once.

They even took a hit a couple weeks ago in a minor collision with a car that changed lanes into the side of me on the 15 freeway.  Deranged the mirror a bit but I just pushed it back into position.  I was lucky not to go down.  That happened the day I originally posted this actually...  :o

Thanks.  I'll give Rizoma a try and see if I can get the metal inserts.

I got the metal inserts (part # MA502-04) from Motovation Accessories.  Problem solved.  Thanks.  The guy at Motovation (Robert) was really helpful.
