Congrats!  [thumbsup]

But you should have taken the blue pill...now you're in Wonderland and there is no telling how deep the rabbit hole will go.  ;D

Ha! Yeah I'm experiencing that right now. I'm already on the prowl for something that can keep up in the straights. I love the Monster and the way she handles, but it's very frustrating to be a better rider than quite a few guys but never be able to pass them during Novice sessions because they disappear in the straights.

Congrats on the first TD... in retrospect you'll realize that going the route of crack cocaine addiction would have probably been a better and cheaper life decision ;)

And yes... it's normal to head straight home after the first and right over to the wera forums/craigslist to look for that perfect beater 600 haha

Take it from me, it's better than getting passed by the better riders on their 250s!!  [bang]

Guy showed up at trackday yesterday with a harley.  Like, a FULL harley (I don't know my HD models), as in 1000 lb beast with leather tassels hanging from shit, chrome bits everywhere, and even his studded saddlebags!!!  [laugh]

I was only in the intro group, taking turns at 40-70mph, reaching ~100 in the main straights and people were whizzing by me.  I just laugh imagining that harley crusing around turns as at even 25-30 mph, scraping chrome parts at a 10* lean angle.  Obviously, the bike didn't pass tech inspection so it was left to my imagination.

So if you get nervous or feel unprepared, you can think to yourself, "at least I'm not on a cruiser".

The track day organization I work for regularly has moto cops on their Harleys for training. They've had city and state police from all over New England. Some of them go pretty well.
