Monster clip ons...

I have a 2000 m750.. had it for years, never a modification. But, after hard thoughts, it's time. Just completed a tail chop kit, and have my eyes on one of those covers for the rear part of the seat. Bar end mirrors are now on, and looking at exhaust options. I've seen a couple photos of clip ons on the old monsters,  and I really changes the whole demeanor of the bike... and I love it! So, my question is, who has done this, what clip ons did you use, and is there anything I should keep in mind about this change?

I've had two sets of clipons on my bike.

1st set. Zero rise apex that were mounted under the top triple. Loved them because you could adjust the angle. Didn't bother me ever. Had to change them when I swapped forks so I got...

2nd set. 1.5" rise woodcraft. Not angle adjustable. First had them mounted under the top triple, and they were okay. At the time I was commuting 40minutes with about 10-15lbs of stuff on my back with around 10minutes of that being traffic, which led me to move them above the triple where they are now and they are comfortable, but look less aggressive.

So you have a trade off, looks versus comfort. I had no problem with either set when not carrying things on my back for long periods of time, but I'm young, dumb, and don't know any better.
M620 turned M800 but then back to M620 after the M800 died at 110k, and now to Multi 1000.

Go ahead, it's different, but for spirited riding and looks it's a great mod  [thumbsup]

Woodcraft Tech is a well known solution - different heights risers available. Should you, for some reason, need to adjust the down/up angle of the bars themselves - SpeedyMoto Omnibars.

For your bike, with the coffin style fluid reservoirs, you'll also need spacers (clearance between reservoirs and bars)
(MonsterParts used to have them)

just put a set of Vortex on mine, you'll need to re-route your cables though

One other thing to consider is the Suburban Machinery clubman style bars......
I am not sure if they are still available though......

I went with Apex. Great zero rise bars. But if you go with Apex buy the separate parts. Its cheaper than buying a fully assembled package for some reason.

My 1999 M750 had under-tree clip ons.  Pretty aggressive riding position.  IMO, if you can find a way or a bar that simulates clip ons that would be mounted you might be better off.  I was literally hugging the tank to ride.

Here's a shot of my '99 with clip-ons

Here's current state, risers and an ATV bar. I do a lot of long day rides, so this more adventure/upright setup works better for me than the clip-ons.

I'm rocking a set of woodcrafts that I had to mount under the forks because I couldn't get enough fork above the triple with my 999 fork conversion.
Currently, they are the 2-inch risers, but I've decided to make the swap to 3-inch risers as soon as I can... the extra inch is going to help ergos a lot for me â€" had some recent lower vertebrae issues.

Of course I also dropped my gauges and headlight, so the look really worked out well:

Motowheel clipon (option with 1" raise or no, interchangeable). Mount right on top without moving the forks or lower the forks to fit under the top clamp.  And it will be flush perfectly. I have pics some where of mine.

Down side...not adjustable angle.
