Catering to all those who don't want to learn how to ride, but still want to look like yuppie douche bags.

But really, can ya blame 'em?

Harley sees that other companies are converting bikes into trikes and figure that they want a share...Just good business sense.

I'm quite sure that many die hard Harley fans would buy one of these (probably waaay over priced) trikes over a non-modded by Harley trike. I wonder if they are being made in a Harley factory or subbed out...I'd bet the latter.

I was getin' one of the Ducks inspected at my local Harley dealer the other week and saw a trike based on a V-Rod ! It was used and if I remember right they were asking 29K...Wow! Sharp ride though.

Trikes aren't only for people afraid to ride on 2 wheels  but are good for handicapped folks and the older set.

If I live so long I may end up on a trike too...'course it would be Ducati based...

Does this mean I don't get to see the locals tip over their bikes while trying to move the kickstand drunk?

I've got a convertable but I could surely see a place for a trike in my life at some time.

I'm a little confused as to why so many "real bikers" are adverse to trikes???

mstevens

I struggle with the reference to "bat wing" styling - does anyone else know what this is supposed to be?

This is totally not for me. I could see it if I were short a leg or otherwise unable to ride my Harley, assuming I wanted to do that in the first place. I've just laughed at trikes for too many years ever to ride one.

As for the convertible statement, I'm not yet 50 and there are days it's tough to get in and out of my Z4. My dad can't do it at all. As my knees get worse, I wonder how long I'll be able to use the clutch and twist my right leg around the transmission hump. I realize there are automatic transmissions in cars claiming to be roadsters, but why?

I think by the time most people "need" a trike they'll also be out of the roadster market.

Model:  AARP

Goes right in line with the rest of their FLXDRSABPNED model designations.
I solve my problems like an adult, at the strip club drinking on a work night.

The Harley is hideous, but some of the other versions of trikes on that thread looked reasonable.  Not for me, but I can understand the market for them (handicapped, old people).

If you are going to do 3 wheels, make it cool (piaggo, t-rex, etc) - if you buy this thing?  You're a poser just like all the rest, and I still get to laugh at you as you just gave the HD dealer enough $$ to buy a 2 ducati's a dirt bike and a bunch of riding gear, and maybe pay off your home mortgage.

Get a convertible....
Can you imagine a world without a Ducati???  I think it's called Hell. :)

roy-nexus-6

Ek, you're one wheel away from a convertible. Where's it gonna end?

ATTENTION all seniors, crippled military veterans, individuals handicapped by a reckless driver/hooligan, and anyone else that was considering adapting to a physical condition by getting a trike so they could get into/continue motorcycling and sharing camaraderie with old friends â€" Forget It.  It has been deemed by some narrow-minded, discriminating elitist that you should stay home and take up knitting until you die.

Can’t say I will feel bad for those who demean others when life throws them an unexpected curveball or when they aren’t young, strong and invincible any longer.  And how wonderful to know these snobby beliefs are being handed down to the next generation of bikers.  Way to come together gang.

Just when I think I have seen it all, a new low in ragging on other motorcyclist pops up.  Certain remarks that continue to crop up here make me embarrassed we even bought Ducs, because we certainly don’t think so low of other bikers.  Well it’s time to go for a ride and blow this pompous stink off of me and warn the hubby to stick to the tech threads when he comes here.

Ducatiloo

My point was that HD will never market this bike to goup you listed.  Their PR group does not have the balls.  Neither does any other mainstream brand.
