I want to take off my side panels on my 05 S2R 800. In order to do this (and make it look psuedo clean), I need to either relocate the ignition coil behind the left side panel or by an after market one.

I havent looked into this much but JC Whitney shows nology Ignition coils work for my bike. They have a trick dual coil that may allow me to get rid of the rear coil all together. Since I have pods, I have plenty of clearance at the front coil.

What I really need to know is the following

1) Has anyone used these nology coils before? How are they for reliability? They state a higher output voltage than OEM's is this true?
2) are there any other options for coils that I dont know of?
3) Will the 2 tower dual coil setup work for an S2R 800 or is this more for a dual spark type setup.
4) Are there some routing conflicts that I need to be concerned or aware of?

Also, with a Pods/Boomtubes combination on my bike, I'm thinking I'm going to need some engine tuning. Having better coils/wires and a wider plug gap may help in addition to my existing PCIII.

I sorta suspected they were GM HEI/EST's  The plug socket looks similar.

Can't really comment on Nology itself. I never heard anything bad, but allways seemed pricey.
Their cat list older Duc's, and specify coil per plug.

I know this thread is ancient, but how did it go? I have a 2003 M800 dark, same setup, same plan to relocate the coil so I can remove the side panels. Did you replace or just relocate the stock coil? Did you just cut off the bracket from the frame after? Mine is welded, trying to figure how to preserve its looks after surgery.
