Okay everyone, I am moving to Kansas City with that start I am planning on making serious mods to my 620 Monster.  With that being said I have ordered some new turn signals and other small stuff but what I am really looking at is taking an old 999R exhaust and subframe and putting it on my 620 Monster.  Do you think it would add or take away from the bike?  Good or bad I would like your feedback.  Thanks.   [drink] [shot]

if you want to sell it after you've fitted the exhaust it will definitely take away value, unless you find a person who thinks, like you do, that it's a good idea.

if you're going to keep it then who cares what anyone else thinks.  do what you want.  it's only cutting and welding and fitting stuff.

and it is only a 620.  it's not like it's rare or unique.

Very true, I am trying to hold on to my bike.  I know it probably won't add any performance measures, but I am trying to create a cafe racer without pouring a ton of money into it.  I am trying to make something unique pulling from all different types of Duc's.  I have yet really to try my hand at metal fabrication.

In said case, try to for the CF or stainless version without the cat . . . You DON'T want the weight of that thing or if what uou want is an underseat exhaust,  have you thought about one from a 1st gen MTS630/1000/1100?  Just saying . . .

any oem muffler of that style is heavy.  very heavy.  termi 999 ones are now nla, so would expect them to be pricey.

I am by not far an expert, but I need to understand your motivation behind this. First, I believe the diameter if different, so you would need to find someone that can cut and weld. After that you have to consider the routing. After all is set and done you will need basically a whole custom exhaust with the 999R slip-on. I would instead look for a set of high mounts for the 620 and just customize them to go under the seat. Oh, also forgot about the clearance. The 620 was not designed to have the underseat exhaust. You would need to raise the back so that the tire is not rubbing the cans. Too much effort and $$$ for what is worth.

Might as well go for an aluminum subframe while you are at it.
M620 turned M800 but then back to M620 after the M800 died at 110k, and now to Multi 1000.

thanks a lot guys for the advice.  I really appreciate it.  I didn't think about the spacing issue or the weight, since I am a newbie at modifications I am looking at every option.

I want to make a really unique cafe racer.  I understand the 620 probably isn't the platform to start off but I see these really cool looking ones with a lot of mods and I think that could be something really neat for my bike.

FWIW, the OEM exhaust was the first thing I changed on my 999.
