Well, I wound up buying a 2002 TTR 125.  It was the best deal closest to my house/work.  And it turns out the kid I was buying it from was using the $$ from the sale to pay for his final year of college - and he's the same major (recreation) as me.

I got the bike home and my daughter freaked out!!  She is so excited to go riding.  I can get it maintained at the local shop that maintains all my bikes (minus the duc; that goes to the dealer) and to tell you the truth, I can do much of the maintenance myself.  It can't be that hard.  :)

I think i'd have liked to get the honda but I could not pass up this deal being so close.

Thanks for all your opinions - they were a great help!
Can you imagine a world without a Ducati???  I think it's called Hell. :)

A major in recreation??  So like, you get graded on partying in college and going to the beach and stuff?  Never heard of it, but that major sounds  [bacon]   [bacon]  [bacon]

Buy the honda, they seem to be easier to sell and find parts for.

My kids went through 2 crf5's and then a few cobras, and honda 70's.  We looked at the yamaha'sbut never liked the aftermarket part support.  It almost all had to come from yamaha.

Could be Human Performance &Recreation...what I got my Assoc in.  Parks and Recreation?

On another note...that is great doing that for your daughter....gives her a sense of responsibility and can enjoy an outdoor hobby.  I hate to see kids cooped up in the house all the time.  I remember the days as a kid when my parents would hvae to fight to get us in the house.
