I found a Romanian AK for sale with 1,000 rounds that has never been fired.  I'm doing my best to not throw money at the guy.

Does anyone have a Speer #11 manual? If so, would you mind looking up the load data for a #4013 125 gr JHP with HP38?

I need the min and max powder and COL.

Thanks

Hodgdon lists 4.4 min and 4.8 max at 1.090 for a Sierra 125 gr FMJ with HP-38

No Speer manual...sorry.

Thanks Nate. On my load box I have my last load listed as 5.0. (Which I had loaded using a borrowed #11) It has been a year since I loaded, and my notes are not the best. I would prefer not to blow up my gun.  [laugh]

Speer has pulled HP38 loads with that bullet in #14.

Just breaking in a new Cooper 204 and thought I'd show how it compares to my 17hmr so far.

204 on the left and 17hmr on the right make a nice pair for varmints.

4-shot groups at 100 yds. with factory loads.  Top sheet - 6 groups for the 204 (definite shooter flinch on target 2).  Second sheet - 5 groups from 17hmr while 204 was cooling between mags.  Then shot up a box 17hmr on the bottom sheet - 4-round groups in targets 1,2, & 3; 14 rounds into targets 4 & 5;  and 10 rounds into target 6.

So far, I've just been shooting 32gr factory VMax.  The 204 is a game model and a repeater but I was still expecting better 100yd groups - 4-shot groups run from 3/8" to 3/4" pretty consistently (seen a few 1" groups too).  I've been cleaning the bore a lot so I don't know if it settles in with fouling and I've maybe been overly cautious to not overheat the barrel.  I'm no bench-rest shooter so I'm sure that I'm the limiting factor.  Hand loads and better marksmanship should improve the precision over those groups.  I want to slip it into a lead sled on a windless day sometime to see what it'll do.  I'm happy with the limited shooting I've done at longer distances with the 204 - I can hit the range gong at 420 yds any time I want (wind permitting).

The 17hmr still really impresses me though. Inside of 100 yds (maybe even 125), I'd go with either gun for gophers.  The 17 is a bit more fun and I like it's limited range around livestock.  I can put lots of rounds through it and it'll shoot well whether it's clean or dirty or cool or hot.

that's a nice looking pair  [drool]

My "problem" got worse. I ordered an AR lower and a 10" barrel for a 300 Blackout SBR build. ;D

So. . .

tell me about the Ruger Super Blackhawk .44 magnum.

My father in law came into one from another family member and it's pretty sweet.

Been spending some time at the range.   Desperately need a new trigger for the lr308 (damn the stock one sucks), but can consistently hit a pumpkin at 300 so I guess anything else is luxury.  Spent more on lego kits for the kid then a new trigger…. priorities.    Her .22 bolt action could use a new trigger too.   hmmmm…

I posted my Colt King Cobra on VA Gun Trader for $1000 and it sold in 5 minutes.

People are nuts.  They are selling on GB for around 1500-2000 for perfect specimen.  Mine is VG+/EXC.

Haven't fired it in 8 years.  Time to move it out.

I'm a Ruger fan. I'm a bit biases.   So I'll have someone else review it for you.

I told myself I wasn't going to buy another gun until next year but I'm realizing I need a big revolver.

Picked up a stainless CVA Wolf .50 caliber muzzleloader this evening.  Got a deal I couldn't resist.  22" barrel, very light little "brush gun".  Break open action and toolless breach plug removal will make it a pleasure to maintain.

My Knight and 700ml required 2 lbs worth of tools to pull the bolt/plug.

Anyone want to buy a Knight or 700ml?
