... change my coolant to water wetter and disable by lights in preparation? M695

Anyone got any video tutorials, or do I need to head to the local co-op moto shop and have someone show me?

thanks.

On a 695... Unless you have the ST2 cylinders and an added radiator +water pump there is no coolant other than engine oil. Water wetter is a poor substitute for oil in my understanding.

Lights are best disabled by unplugging... The fuse also runs the gauges on at least one model. No gauges, no start on an immobilizer enabled bike.

Counting from the right: fuse number 5 and 6 (15A) will disable all lights and horn. Instruments are another fuse.

It's all in your owner's manual.

... and as stated: no water in your bike.

You can also just tape over your lights with blue painters masking tape and not worry about pulling fuses. That's what I've always done.

Yeah, no reason to disable the light.
Give me a shout if you know any good motorcycle detailers in the Westchester area.

Well aside from the cringe about water wetter  :-[ I taped up my lights, went, and had a blast! Got rid of my chicken strips, learned a lot about my bike.

Looks like you had fun  8)

Nothing wrong with the body position.
Elbows out would be elbows down with clip ons, but that's not too important.

The thing about the lights is mostly to handle, safeguard, or get rid of the potential broken lens in case of a spill. It's all done to protect the other riders from you.
No modification goes unpunished. Memento mori.  Good people drink good beer.  Things happen pretty fast at high speeds.

It's all up to your will level, your thrill level and your skill level.  Everything else is just fluff.
