Quotebut i'm glad you like the SF -- better engine a will be sought after like the SCs soon.

Hope you're right, I made 5k on selling my Sportclassic

I was relly suprised how big the new 1200 looked in person, the seat also looks really low and cruiser like, it even looked heavy sitting there, wasn't feeling it.

The SF fits just right, I prefer the fit, height, and riding position just so much more. I just feel the bike is for me. The engine is smooth and powerful. Although I did really like the EVO even though I felt like I needed to shift more. All in all beloved EVO is gone and I am atop a new SF848.

  Awesome choice!

I felt the same when I was upgrading from my m696. The SF fit better.  I found an 1100S so cheap that I could not pass it up. I only regret the better size of the SF.

I'm looking at a new bike for early next season. For me it's between 2015 Diavel, SF848, Monster 1200s, SportClassic S (with bubble fairing).

The sportclassic was a great bike. Everyone oogled it everywhere and ran smooth as butter. Problem for me was riding position was even more extreme than a sportbike and two i found myself looking and admiring it more than riding it. I was too scared to scratch it.

[laugh] No kidding.  I've ridden the Diavel, the SF848 and a Sport Classic and the only one of those 3 I'd ever consider owning to ride on a daily basis is the SF.  The Sport Classic is a good bike but the wire wheels let it down as does the suspension.  They look cool as hell and they are good bikes but just not as good as they could be.  The Diavel is fast as hell and handles and brakes well but it is cartoonish in looks and the riding position just doesn't work for me at all.  I think the Monster 1200 is just a Monsterized Diavel.  The SF848 is pure hooligan.  And I love that about it.

What's interesting is the dealer told me the SF's never sold that well except recently they've had a real uptick in sales. Could be ppl like myself, sdrider and a few other monster owners who got a monster couple years ago and are deciding to change

That might be the ONLY thing they have in common with SC's.  ;D I wouldn't count on re-sale residuals..., but what do I know.  [roll]

Biggest strike against SF is the fact that it's more of an "on top" rather than "in" riding position.

On top is not necessarily a bad thing. For me the SF should have been the next evolution of the Monster. It's far more hooligan than the direction the Monster line took.
No modification goes unpunished. Memento mori.  Good people drink good beer.  Things happen pretty fast at high speeds.

It's all up to your will level, your thrill level and your skill level.  Everything else is just fluff.
