Has anyone else seen this happen? The side cases start bubbling.... Not sure if it's the excessive heat down here in AZ but regardless I wouldn't think it should bubble like this..

I had I believe what happens after the bubbling, which was open holes from bubbles bursting or sanded down or something from my 2002. The history prior to me owning it is questionable, but I also had discolored heads as well as that bubbling on the clutch side case which I always assumed was from heat.
M620 turned M800 but then back to M620 after the M800 died at 110k, and now to Multi 1000.

Mine has that on the fins of the horizontal cylinder... I just chalked it up to the many miles I've put on the bike, and my piss poor washing habits (the bike, not my person).

The ModFather

would getting it sandblasted and powder coated resolve that?

Initially. Not sure if it would creep back, tho. Like most finishes, It's probably all in the prep.

too late for warranty, but, as The  ModFather said, sandblast and recoat . . . But, once sandblasted, check the surface, if pitted, then think about looking for a new one . . .

That happened to mine, way back in 2008, when it only had about 7500kms . . . Dealer replaced it under warranty back then

It didn't happen until I came out here in the heat. Soon as I get another bike (here), I'll tear the casings off and powdercoat them.

This has happened to me as well..

Although not as bad yet, looks pretty unsightly up close and kind of gives me the creeps.

Anyone know what procedure and cost to get this fixed?? DIY?

How about removing the cover(s) and polishing?

I've had a few bubbles on the case on my 06 620, and I don't think the heat's the problem in AK. Worried me when I first noticed it but doesn't seem to have caused any problems so far.
